Professional Land Surveyor To Lead Expanding Survey Department
Civil 1 is a highly successful civil engineering, planning, consulting and land surveying firm located in Woodbury CT. We are currently seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) with 5+ years of relevant experience to lead the land surveying department. This position is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious surveyor with strong leadership qualities looking to join and expand a great team of surveyors and engineers. Job Functions Include:
- Conduct research of public and private land records.
- Communicate with the client and project team to understand the goals, challenges, schedule, budget, and expectations of projects.
- Oversee the schedule and daily tasks of the survey crew.
- Training and support of survey crew.
- Operate field survey equipment including Trimble and Leica robotic stations, Trimble GPS system, and perform land surveying calculations.
- Oversee, manage, and perform work on active construction projects.
- Perform office functions including drafting, import of data, and map preparation.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of survey equipment.
Qualifications & Technical Skills
- Professional Land Surveyor License
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil3D and Carlson software
- Prior experience as a crew chief or senior surveyor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans
- Ability to operate survey equipment including but not limited to robotic total stations, GPS survey equipment, data collectors and automatic level.
- A current driver’s license in good standing & ability to operate company owned vehicles.
- Ability to navigate terrain and transport equipment on-site in varying weather conditions
